There's nothing better than sitting back on a rainy day and just relaxing inside, but with work or school that's not always the case. I love a chic umbrella because of you have to go out in the rain, at least you can look fabulous doing so. Leopard goes with everything too so it's a perfect option.

Emerald & Cognac

I'm usually not one who likes green but I love this blouse I picked up from the Target clearance rack earlier this summer. I love it paired with one of my favorite pearl necklaces and a great cognac bag. Of course leopard pairs with just about everything and I love it with this emerald green.

Perfect Fall Scarf

Women Who Wear Black Lead Colorful Lives

What is more chic than all black?! Especially when mixing textures and a leopard print, all black can be very striking. I love this tank that I have in hot pink as well. These leggings are thrifted but they are Material Girl brand. They have a great printed texture on them.  I love the subtle contrast of textures. Being a woman who is an artist and designer, I lead a very colorful life.  I love color, but sometimes there is something about black that is so chic, especially all black.  I love adding a pop of color and of course jewelry to help keep my all black look from looking too flat.

My Birthday Outfit!

This past Wednesday, the 24th, I turned 27. I know, scary!!! Sometimes I don't know where the time has gone. I had a wonderful day.  I went to my classes, stopped in at TjMaxx and found an awesome mirror on sale, and got wonderful birthday wishes from people. It's easy to not look forward to each birthday every year, especially when you are twenty something. You may feel like you aren't accomplishing things or not up to the speed of what other people your age are doing. Well, I'm slowly learning this myself too, but forget all of those so called benchmarks of where you are supposed to be in life, what you're supposed to have accomplished and so on. I say this because those are all "supposed to's" created by society and you need to live life according to your own path. As I said before, I am still learning too, but the more you do what you want, at what time you want, the happier you will be. Last year, I wasn't in a place where I wanted to be in my life, nor thought I would be at 26.  Towards the end of the year last year, I decided to resign from my job and go back to school to pursue my second degree, still in the design field, because that is where my passion lies.  It has truly been a liberating experience. I am very hopeful that good things will arise from it, they already have! If you are struggling with not being where you thought you'd be, then I strongly encourage you to change your life for the better.  I wouldn't have dreamed that I'd be where I am now, last year, and it's all due to choices I've made.  People grow at different speeds.  Sometimes you need to walk through the storm so that it can change you into the person you are meant to be.  I am overall a much happier person because I decided to take control of the things that I could control in life.  If something isn't working there is always another option. Forget society's expectations. Don't waste your life living in someone else's idea of what life should look like.

Big Gold Statement Necklace

While I stopped into Gordmans yesterday, I picked up those gorgeous booties (in my last post) as well as this beautiful statement necklace. As you know, I'm a sucker for statement necklaces, the bigger the better in my case.  I love the boldness of this one and the metal is so bright and it has a hammered effect. Fall Booties

I stopped into Gordmans today looking for summer clearance, cause this is the time to shop and get all the deals right?! Well, I also wanted to check out the new fall and back to school stuff too. I stumbled upon these gorgeous booties! They make me want fall weather to hurry up and get here so I can wear them. They feature a small heel and zippers on the inside. Classic Leopard & Black

I've been so busy lately, but finding time to post this fabulous look. I've worn this skirt several times and shown it on here, but it remains one of my favorites. It is so comfortable and leopard never goes out of style. It's perfect for work and anything else! I have paired it with a black sleeveless turtleneck, which have quickly begun being one of my favorite summer tops. 

I have a secret, up until just a couple years ago, I used to be really self conscious about my arms, always wearing sleeveless tops and dresses to a minimum. I have always been really strong and have a lot of muscle in my arms. I never liked accentuating it. Now, I've gotten several compliments on how great my arms look and questions on how I get them so toned. Honestly, I'm not a workout person. I've never like going to the gym. My figure just happens to be related to my genes mostly. I've gotten over that fear. 

Everyone has something they are self conscious about. Really, I've come to realize life is too short for insecurities. I challenge you to wear something a little out of your comfort zone and rock that item you feel you can't pull off! You will look and feel fabulous!

Fun Color Combo

These two colors paired together are just fabulous aren't they? This necklace I purchased from Poshmark, where I also sell some pieces from my closet. My closet is @EmilysFabCloset, if you would like to check it out. I'm always adding new items. This blouse is one of my favorites and perfect for that punch of vibrant color! I purchased it at the New York and Company outlet, so I couldn't find the exact one on the website, but I have linked several other similar blouses below. Wait till you check out the watermelon one!
